HCA celebrates the arts

Toes were tapping at the annual CURRO HCA Crest Fest as famous international dances were performed on stage.

CURRO HCA recently hosted its annual Crest Fest, a Children’s Arts Festival, which celebrates creative art.

The theme for this year’s event was Countries of the World. The magical festival was initiated by an opening Parade, led by the KZN Army Band and Mistress Fantastica.

The general public and primary school pupils were later treated to an exciting variety of dances famously associated with Cuba, Austria, Ireland, Spain, Brazil and the USA.

Judith Hawthorn, the festival curator, is passionate about sharing music, dance and theatre with school children. “Not only are we educating these children, but also future generations of theatre goers. My wish is that every child will discover the thrill of live performance and be inspired to take up dance, music or drama.”
