Rescue horses bringing joy to people

Learn to ride with Out of the Blue Animal Rescue.

FOURTEEN pupils from OUT of the Blue Animal Rescue’s riding school excelled at the recent Beacon Hill training jumping show in Alverstone when they all walked away with rosettes.

The learners, all under the guidance of riding instructor, Judy Theunissen, competed on the rescue ponies from Out of the Blue Animal Rescue and did themselves and the farm proud. The youngest member of the team was two-year-old, Kylah Glanz who was lead around the pole on the ground class and 30cm class.

The centre based in Alverstone offers riding lessons for all ages from tiny tots to adults. They also offer supervised outrides around the farm. Cost is R100 for half hour riding lesson or R150 for an hour riding lesson or outrides.

For those wanting a party with a difference, ponies can be hired for children’s parties and Sir Lancelot, the magnificent 18.1hh white Percheron x Shire with the gentle, unflappable nature is a firm favourite at both children’s parties and weddings.
