Wine and dine for charity

The cheese-and-wine event will be held at Upper Highway's hidden gem to raise funds for The Valley Trust.

THE Valley Trust is hosting an art and cheese-and-wine fundraiser at Macnut Farm this Friday, October 18, from 18:00 to 21:00.

There will be a cheese-and-wine-themed harvest table, an art auction with work by local artists, raffles and wine for sale, and live music. Dress smart casual and warm.

The Valley Trust is an NGO with 70 years of experience.

The Valley Trust is a centre for health promotion – mainly for the children of the valley, founded in 1953. Their mission is to use health as a primary means to improve the overall well-being of the communities in the valley and to continue to be an example of sustainable and holistic community development through a carefully envisioned focus on education, social cohesion, capacity building and forward planning.

Macnut Farm is situated in the heart of Assagay, a valley just minutes from Hillcrest, on 13 Lello Road.

The Valley Trust and Macnut Farm are both proud members of the 1000 Hills Community Tourism Organisation.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
