WATCH: Massive fire breaks out at business premises in Queensburgh

The roads in and around Piet Retief Road are currently closed as the fire department is trying to control the fire.

PARAMEDICS are on standby after a massive fire broke out at a business premises in Piet Retief Road, Queensburgh today, Monday July 8.

According to ALS Paramedics Garrith Jamieson, paramedics are currently on scene as the fire department is trying to control the fire.

He said the fire has engulfed a building, grass and bushes.

“At this stage no injuries have been reported but paramedics are on standby,” he said.

Marshall Security’s Andreas Mathios said the roads in and around the scene have been closed.

Earlier today ALS Paramedics sent out a warning for Durban residents to exercise caution as severe winds were predicated.

“Paramedics attended to incidents where trucks were blown over. Trees and branches have fallen on the streets damaging vehicles,” he said.

Jamieson also warned people to stay clear of the oceans.

“We also want to appeal to motorists to be careful on the roads as there are debris on some of the roads.”
