Glenpark Market offers array of goodies

Don't miss the Glenpark Neighbourhood Watch exciting fundraiser on Saturday, April 8. There will be something for everyone.

HOP onto the Glenpark Neighbourhood Watch fundraising event on Saturday, April 8, from 09:00 to 14:00.

This year, the organisers are going bigger and better as the day will not include the normal Easter egg hunt but there will be more than 60 stalls selling a variety of delicious food, mouthwatering treats, books, toys and handmade crafts.

There will also be music.

Nisha Harrypersad, head of the fundraiser, said the event will be held at Sarnia Primary School’s field, and there is no entry fee.

“There will be something for everyone, and the highlights of the day include the South African National Blood Services (SANBS), inflatables for the children, and there will be a menagerie and entertainment from the Highway Drum Majorettes,” she said.

Funds raised will go towards the maintenance and upgrading of their camera system, the ongoing costs for patrollers and the renewal of their neighbourhood-watch signboards.

“Anyone who needs to dispose of their old electronic devices in an eco-friendly way can also bring them as Electronic Cemetery will be at the market,” added Harrypersad.
