Families relaxed with their picnic baskets while children enjoyed their time in the water at the Westville Swimming Pool.

PEOPLE flocked to the Westville Swimming Pool on Tuesday, January 3. Many families relaxed with their picnic baskets while children enjoyed their time in the water.

Many parents said they go to the swimming pools regularly with their children as there is always a friendly atmosphere.

eThekwini Municipality spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela asked the public to adhere to the by-laws and wear proper swimwear.

“Children under ten years must be accompanied by an adult,” he said. He stated that non-aquatic events are prohibited and emphasised that they will not tolerate people bringing alcohol to the pools.

Prohibited at the public swimming pools:
– diving
– running
– bombing
– inflatables (except for child swimming aids)
– jumping
– glass bottles
– coal braais
– loud music
– alcohol
– pets
– weapons
– cycling
– balls
