Rapist father to be sentenced at the Camperdown Magistrate’s court
Social workers call for a stiff sentence for a father who raped his daughter.
A father is set to appear at the Camperdown Magistrate’s court to be sentenced after he was found guilty of raping his daughter. The case dates back to 2020 when the Thuleleni Crime and Substance Awareness Organisation was made aware of the case and assisted the victim to open a case.

According to the organisation, the father, who also impregnated his daughter, was threatening to kill her and her mother if they reported the matter to the police.
The Department of Social Development in KwaZulu-Natal reported that the father tried to elude arrest several times after the DNA came back positive. “Police managed to re-arrest him, and he admitted to being guilty of raping his daughter,” stated the department.
Today, social workers from Durban and Pietermaritzburg and the Thuleleni Crime and Substance Awareness Organisation, together with the Social Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza, will be holding a picket outside the Camperdown Magistrate’s court to demand a harsh sentence for the perpetrator.
