World champion dances for dogs and cats at the SPCA

Kevin Ellis and friends will entertain guests with a dancing extravaganza this weekend. And the best news is that it’s all for a good cause.

DANCE For Dogs and Fashion for Felines raises funds for the SPCA this Saturday.

Double world champion dancer Kevin Ellis and friends will host a fun, festive morning at the Kloof and Highway SPCA in Kloof on August 13. Join them between 09:30 and 15:00 under the shady trees in the tea garden.

Ellis, newly returned from Blackpool, England, is the World Dance Masters 2022 title holder. The dancer plans to demonstrate some of his championship-winning routines to the audience and is looking forward to sharing the stage with friends from local dance studios.

The morning’s programme includes a line dance by Kevin Ellis of Dance Magic, Spanish dancing by students from Michelle Clark Dance Academy and Minette de Klerk Dance Academy, and guests will listen to the golden voice of Clinton Philander. A children’s dance fit class will have the little ones cha-cha-cha’ing.

“People can join in with the Latin American Ballroom dancing, and we’ll teach everyone how to do the Jerusalema. We’re giving away spot prizes, giveaways, and lucky draws. It’s going to be a festive, fabulous and wonderful day of fashion, song and dance,” says Ellis.

There is no entrance fee although guests are asked to bring a tin of dog or cat food to donate to the animals of the SPCA.

Date: Saturday, August 13 from 09:30 to 15:00.

Location: Kloof and Highway SPCA, 29 Village Road, Kloof.
