Peruse some wall art during July

Durban-based mix-media creative and fashion artist, Bongani Luthuli, is showcasing his work at the Woza Moya Artist’s Wall for the month of July 2022. The concept behind the Woza Moya Artist’s Wall and Artist’s Cards is to create and showcase work for artists who have been hard hit by Covid-19. Each month, a different artist is paid to paint a wall panel which is displayed on the wall outside Woza Moya, Hillcrest AIDS Centre shop.

Take a guided garden walk on Saturday, July 9

Durban’s winter season sees the monthly Saturday morning guided walks resuming at Durban Botanic Gardens after a very long hiatus.

The theme for the first outing is ‘Our Durban Botanic Gardens – then and now’. The walk will incorporate history and takes you to see historic reminders of the Gardens’ connections with the City. The focus will be on how the Durban Botanic Gardens has developed into the botanic garden it is now, what is happening on the ground at present and any future plans.

Led by the long-standing guide, Christine Sole, the walk will start and end at the Visitors’ Complex, and is geared towards persons of moderate fitness.

The walk starts at 09:30 and will end at about 11:00. Tickets are R60 per person, R40 for pensioners and free for children under 10.

To book: contact Thami Mbhele on Thamsanqa.Mbhele2@durban.gov.za or 031 322 4019.
