Freedom Day Music Festival takes Hillcrest

This event kicks off a new tradition in the Upper Highway area: an annual display of our province's amazing musical ability.

FIG Tree Farm in Hillcrest will be hosting the acclaimed Kearsney College Choir, the KZN Youth Choir, and a plethora of music ensembles from schools around Durban and Pietermaritzburg for a Freedom Day Music Festival, this Wednesday between 10:30 to 17:00.

The award-winning Kearsney College Choir and the soaring vocals of the KZN Youth Choir will be interwoven with performances from a variety of ensembles, including choirs, marimba bands, and jazz bands. Curro HCA, Hillcrest High, Highbury, Westville Senior Primary and Girls High, St Mary’s, St John’s, DHS, and Durban Girls’ High will also perform.

Bring your picnic blankets and spend the day with your family listening to the upbeat tunes of KwaZulu-Natal’s youth.

The facility offers plenty of open space in picturesque settings, as well as a food court and a gin, wine, and beer garden, with pre-ordered picnic plates available from the Millflour Café.

There will be a variety of activities for kids, such as jungle gyms, Laser Tag, and Adventure Golf at additional costs.

Quicket bookings cost R120 for adults and R60 for youngsters.
