Relax and enjoy delicious food at Upper Highway vegan market

The Country Vegan Market situated in Cliffdale is a lovely tranquil setting with beautiful views.

THE KZN Vegan Market invites the public to relax in the countryside, listen to live music, eat delicious food and browse interesting stalls.

The market is held at 9 Sterkspruit Road, Cliffdale.

The KZN Vegan Market which has also another venue in Durban North, grew out of a desire to have a space where vegans or vegan-curious could gather, enjoying a day out shopping, listening to live music and sampling delicious cruelty-free vegan food.

“In May 2018, we started our first market in Botha’s Hill as a trial. It was a huge success with 30 stalls and more than 500 customers. The food stalls sold out by midday,” said organiser, Catherine Phillips.

She said initially, they hosted the market every two months in Botha’s Hill.

“However the venue we used was sold and we had to find new premises. To keep our customers who used to attend the Botha’s Hill Market before it closed, we decided to host a market every alternate month in Cliffdale. This became our Country Vegan Market and was started in May 2019.

The market is held on the last Sunday of every month at the Love and Gratitude Centre in Cliffdale.

“There is a healing centre on the premises offering massages and crossing over readings on the day, we also have a variety of talks, yoga sessions or art workshops as well as our live music, delicious food and other interesting stalls.

“As this is our more health conscious market it is a no-alcohol and no-smoking zone, (there is a designated smoking area at the top of the property for those who really can’t do without) It is a lovely tranquil setting with beautiful views which make this a really special venue,” said Phillips.
