Meet Pepper: A local African Pygmy hedgehog

Pygmy hedgehog owner Lucinda Janse van Rensburg describes them as "adorable balls of affection."

PEPPER is a four-year-old African Pygmy hedgehog, that is 15cm in length.

“You can’t appreciate how much you adore them until you hold one in your hand,”  said her owner and Caxton’s part-time receptionist Lucinda Janse van Rensburg.

“I was initially terrified because I was afraid her spikes would injure me. But after a while of holding and picking her up, I’ve grown accustomed to it and it’s no longer painful,” she added.
