Police urge robbery victims of Pinetown CBD to open cases

Police appeal to victims to come forward and help police by identifying suspects during identification parades.

PINETOWN SAPS detectives have sent out an appeal to victims of street robberies to report cases of robberies taking place in the Pinetown central business district to the police.

Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Captain Bongumusa Manqele said it has come to the attention of the management of Pinetown SAPS that some victims do not report these crimes to the police but post the incidents on social media.

According to Manqele, police arrest robbery suspects each week.

“We urge the victims to come forward and help police by identifying suspects during identification parades. This will help police to solve these cases and also to link identified suspects to other cases,” said Manqele.

Victims of crime can contact the Detective Branch after opening these cases on 031 325 5062 during office hours or Colonel Heeralall on 082 469 6253. They can also contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
