Meet Kloof SPCA’s newest admission, Rocky

Rocky was admitted at the Kloof SPCA after he was found by a resident wandering around.

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA has once again urged the public to not dump or abandon pets.

This call comes after a rooster was found by a caring resident, scratching for food near his fence line.

Rocky was rescued to the Kloof and Highway SPCA after a caring resident reported that he saw a rooster scratching for food near his home.

“Rocky was immediately admitted to our SPCA and taken to our kennel area, where a bowl of food and water were waiting for him. He immediately started eating as he was starving and so thin,” said Kloof and Highway SPCA’s Brigitte Ferguson.

The team at the SPCA believes that Rocky was dumped.

“We do not know how long he has been wandering on our property, lost, alone and hungry. We are happy he is safe now, but also know that there could have been a sad ending to his story,” said the resident who found Rocky.

“Whatever your situation, we will always be there to prevent cruelty, we will never turn away an animal in need, so we appeal to pet owners to do what is best for their animal, and please not dump or abandon them,” pleaded Ferguson.
