The Kloof and Highway SPCA believes that the number of animals dropped off will increase during the first week of January.

THE Kloof and Highway SPCA has appealed to anyone who has lost their pets to urgently visit its premises.

The Kloof SPCA’s manager, Barbara Patrick, said they admitted 62 animals over the New Year weekend.

“So far, only 10 animals have been claimed by their owners. We appeal to anyone who has lost their pets to visit the SPCA rather than phone as we are completely overwhelmed,” said Patrick.

She also encouraged potential pet owners to consider adopting from the Kloof and Highway SPCA and give an unwanted or an unclaimed stray a second chance.
