Local company bites into festive spirit

Malvern Child and Youth Care Centre children were treated to delicious eats and drinks by a local company.

THE children at the Malvern Child and Youth Care Centre were treated to pizza and cooldrinks during a handover of R3 000 cash, which was donated to the home.

The generous donation came from Te Amo Business Solutions.

The owner of the company, Craig Naidoo said he was introduced to the organisation about three years ago and described it as being in a ‘dire state’ back then.

“Which was the reason we decided to help whenever we can. We want to encourage other companies to also support local charities. The children are always in need of assistance.”

The home is a safe haven for vulnerable and orphaned children between the age of three to 18 years old.

Andile Ncamana, the centre’s director, said the home was grateful for the ongoing support. “This certainly put a smile on the children’s faces,” he said.

The home consists of 11 individual houses, each with a dedicated childcare worker to help create a family environment. The developmental programmes offered at the home provide physical, spiritual, psychological, educational and social support to children in need.
