According to Salmon the use of glass conveys the way people see themselves in both their strengths and challenges.

“We used upcycled mirror glass as much as possible which is regarded as multi racial and will only reflect what’s gazed into it.”

With this breathtaking piece, the artist said they wanted to do something to uplift and inspire residents around Durban.

“We chose to undertake the project here at Pinetown Senior Primary School. We hope it restores a sense of hope and upliftment,” she said.

Salmon added that she would like to thank family and friends for support and encouragement.

Principal of the school, Bruce King said: “I love that this mural promotes unity amongst diversity, the values that the school uphold.”
