This year they have decided to bless at least 3000 grannies and grandpas.

“The reality is that a visit, with special time shared and a meaningful hug and smile, means so much more to our beneficiaries than the gifts we take. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we have not been able to visit at all. We still want to share the love with our older citizens,” said RHF founder, Cindy Norcott.

With this in mind, the foundation has officially started its gift collections for the last quarter of this year.

“This which will give us time to collect the bags/gifts and isolate them before they go into the homes and frail care facilities,” she said.

Norcott appealed to the public to support the campaign by buying items for a special granny or grandpa.

“We would love for those who have time to consider writing a letter or making a card for one of our grannies or grandpas, to add to the packs. This will add the ‘human touch’, that they miss so dearly. If you have young children, they could also draw a picture to place in the bag,” she said.

Norcott added that the majority of the wish lists are essentially for toiletries, treats, underwear and basic necessities.

“What we’d like to do is gift each granny and grandpa with their wish list items and include some toiletry items with a letter/card. This will encourage them and lift their spirits as we approach the end of a difficult 2021,” said Norcott.
