SECURITY guards, who said they were tired of earning ‘peanuts’, took to the company’s offices in Westmead and protested outside the gate earlier today (7 April).
The security guards claimed their working days have been shortened.

“They are being unfair. They should make us work normal hours. Our salaries are cut in half due to the abnormal working days. We have families to support,” said a worker.
Workers said what angers them is that the employers have employed more people while the working days for the current staff have been shortened.
Other workers claim that they can not go to the offices to address these issues as they are slapped with written notices.
The majority of the security guards stationed in Pinetown and New Germany municipal sites said they feel ‘undermined’ by the company.
“Some of us have been working with loyalty for many years and we have nothing to show for our long services.”
The company, known to the Highway Mail, has been contacted for a comment.
