In last year’s Independent Examination Board (IEB) matric results, Kearsney’s phenomenal average mark for mathematics was a distinction (80 percent and over). For the 10th consecutive year, the school’s mathematics distinction rate was at least double the average IEB rate.
Given the importance of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) for study and career options, Kearsney’s headmaster, Elwyn van den Aardweg said the school continued to place importance on the success of its programme in mathematics and science excellence.
