New Germany security guard arrested for colleague’s murder
The security guards were both on duty when a fight ensued between them, resulting in the suspect shooting his colleague.
A 44-YEAR-OLD security guard was set to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court today, 25 March for the murder of his colleague.
Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said it is alleged that an argument ensued between the two security guards on the night they were on duty at a company on Progress Road in New Germany.

“It is alleged that a fight broke out between the two and the suspect pulled out a firearm and fired shots at the deceased. The deceased (53) sustained gunshots to the stomach and lower back,” said Manqele.
The deceased died on the scene. The suspect was arrested and his gun was also seized.
