The white Ford Ranger, which was recovered in Manguzi, was reportedly stolen in Hillcrest in March this year.

Manguzi is situated in the Umkhanyakude District Municipality in the rural heartlands of KwaZulu-Natal, bordered by Mozambique and Swaziland.

KZN police spokesperson, Capt Nqobile Gwala said police officers from Manguzi SAPS were conducting patrols in the Ekuthukuzeni and Manguzi areas when they spotted a vehicle.

“The said vehicle was stopped and it was established that the vehicle was stolen in Hillcrest during March 2020. Two suspects, aged 27 and 44, were placed under arrest for being in possession of a stolen vehicle,” said Gwala.

The suspects appeared in the KwaNgwanase Magistrate’s Court and were remanded in custody until next week for a formal bail application.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
