The second crash on the M19 involved a policeman.

TWO people were injured in two separate incidents along the M19 towards Pinetown this morning.

In the first incident, a car plunged into a river, just after the Mountbatten Drive offramp.

According to advanced life support paramedic, Garrith Jamieson, the single occupant in the vehicle is believed to be in his 30s.

“Rescuers made their way down to the vehicle and found the male had sustained moderate injuries. He was assisted up by rescuers to the top of the bank,” said Jamieson.

Shortly after, at the same location of the first crash,  there was another accident where a vehicle crashed into a police vehicle.

“Paramedics are currently stabilising the policeman, who has sustained serious injuries,” said Jamieson.
