Help Upper Highway NPO extend its reach

The Heartstrings Community Project hopes to extend its tea garden initiative by creating a larger indoor space before the rainy season hits.

WITH the rainy season on the horizon, the Heartstrings Community Project in Crestholme needs your help to create a fully covered space to ensure its little tea garden remains a sustainable fundraising source.

The Pilgrims Rest Tea garden initative is once again open for the public to enjoy, but it is only partly covered.

“Our ability to run our fundraising initiatives is greatly affected by the very limited covered space we have, this doesn’t offer much respite from the elements. We are desperately trying to figure out how we are going to create a proper covered area for caring for our community, hosting community events and being able to become more self-sustaining in the future,” said one of the non-profit organisation’s founders, Paula Strydom.

The NPO launched its own building fund but, unfortunately, has not raised enough to cover the costs to create an on-site ‘little piece of heaven’, as the founders refer to it as.

“We need your help. We invite you to partner with us to create something really special. It’s an exciting adventure and you will be helping us to create a land mark in the Upper Highway area. Those who know our hearts, and have been to our beautiful sanctuary, will attest to the incredible vision that has already come to life and know that we have had a major impact in our area and beyond,” said Mike Strydom.

The loving couple said the project is much bigger than them and they need a community collective of hearts to help turn their vision into a reality.

“Even if it’s a little bit – together it will make a big difference,” said Paula.
