According to Squires, the case was opened against a 32-year-old woman who was accused of allegedly falsifying invoices and channelling the money into her private account.
The victim realised what had happened and opened a criminal case as the suspect did not return to work.
“W/O Ricky Chettair was allocated the docket to investigate. With the assistance of the complainant, he was able to track the woman at her new work place in Hillcrest. It was also established that she was wanted and a Warrant of Arrest outstanding for a case in 2018.”
Squires said further investigations revealed that the woman was wanted in four different cases of fraud and theft in the Gauteng province – absconding without paying for accommodation at various bed and breakfast venues.
“The case was remanded to 28 September 2020 for a formal bail application,” said Squires.
