Queensburgh’s Grace 4 Babies makes invaluable difference with over 700 parcels

The non-profit company, which helps new mums with products for their babies, needs more donations to reach its 750 parcel milestone.

QUEENSBURGH non-profit company, Grace 4 Babies NPC, has reached a milestone in packing and distributing more than 700 parcels on Sunday, 13 September.

This puts the charity close to reaching its 750 parcel milestone, which would translate into an average of 75 parcels each month since it began last year.

“We registered the charity, Grace 4 Babies, in December 2019 as an NPC, following me founding it in April,  shortly after the birth of my own baby,” explained Shadwell.

She said she felt she had to do something to help other young mums after joining a young-mother’s support group while pregnant.

“I felt the need  to help underprivileged mothers with baby essential care packs,” she said.

Needs

Shadwell said while they were pleased to have donated so many parcels, they are now running short of supplies since the past months have seen many women and their babies in need due to the current economic climate.

She encouraged companies that manufacture or distribute baby goods to donate samples of their products which they would use to market their items.

She also said help from suppliers of items, such as disposable nappies, would be welcome.

Tax benefits

“Companies that donate products will not go unrewarded,” she said adding that Grace 4 Babies NPC would happily promote their products on their social media platforms on both Facebook and Instagram, in exchange for donations. “Anyone who wants to donate cash will receive a SARS Section 18A tax certificate at the end of their financial year,” said Shadwell.
