Man dies in Old Richmond Road collision

A 35-YEAR-OLD man died in a collision along Old Richmond Road this morning.

According to Garrith Jamieson of Red Line Response, the accident involved a double cab Toyota Hilux and a refuse removal vehicle.

Jamieson said emergency practitioners declared the man dead on arrival.

“Two other occupants of the Toyota sustained moderate injuries and were attended to on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital,” said Jamieson.

The truck driver was not injured. Traffic was severely affected this morning. SAPS will be investigating the cause of the accident.
