St Mary’s learners wrap baby home with love

From blankets to meals, the senior primary girls from St Mary's DSG went all out to show their support for the House of Love and Hope.

ST Mary’s DSG, Kloof’s senior primary girls, with the help of their parents, grandparents and teachers, knitted up a storm to create beautiful blankets for the babies who live at the House of Love and Hope (HOLAH).

The knitted squares were lovingly stitched together to make the blankets that were dropped off at the safe haven for abandoned and orphaned babies.

“HOLAH has a very special place in our girls’ hearts as the grade 7 girls regularly visit the home to play with the babies and donate much needed items,” said the school’s marketing and communications administrator, Sarah Bartholomew.

The Grade 7 girls then put their cooking skills to the test and spent a day making meals for the HOLAH baby home.

“Well done girls, we’re sure you had lots of fun in the kitchen and even learnt a new skill or two!” said Bartholomew.

The school celebrated Mandela Month and more blankets were made by the end of July.
