SAPS calls on former members to re-enlist

The call goes out to all previous members who served as constable, sergeant and warrant officer, and those who left the service honourably.

IN a move to increase its capacity, the South African Police Service (SAPS) is now re-enlisting former police officers.

“SAPS is giving an opportunity to trained and skilled police officers, who left the service honourably, in the ranks of constable, sergeant and warrant officer, to re-enlist,” said SAPS spokesman, Colonel Brenda Muridili.

Muridili said the recruitment of former police officers will form part of the organisation’s commitment to improve staffing levels.

This will enable it to fulfill its constitutional mandate to fight crime and keep South Africans safe.

The official application forms can be obtained from the South African Police Service website at www.saps.gov.za.

The closing date for applications is on Friday, 31 July 2020.
