Nestlè ‘drops the bar’ as Chocolate Log is discontinued

More than 800 social media users had a less than 'sweet' reaction to Chocolate Log discontinuation.

SOCIAL MEDIA has lit up after household brand, Nestlè announced that they would be discontinuing their popular Chocolate Log.

More than 800 Facebook users reacted to a post, announcing that the chocolate bar would be ‘logging off’ after 50 years on South African supermarket shelves.

In the post, Nestlè said customers could expect new product offerings to replace the Chocolate Log.

“Chocolate log may be logging off after 50 years of being in your home, but be on the lookout, there are new delicious Nestlè chocolate treats on the way! Thank you South Africa,” read the post.

But, this, was not enough to console some consumers.

“I’m really not happy – this is probably the only chocolate I can eat. You have devastated me,” wrote one social media user.

“I did not give the all clear to log off! Im not done logging on! Log back online, now,” griped another.

While most comments shared less-than-sweet-reactions to the news, one customer was unphased.

“The latest one didn’t taste as good anyway as those back in the day,” they wrote.
