Durban’s Robin Hood Foundation raises hope during the lockdown

Robin Hood Foundation needs help raise R150 000 before the 15th of May to enable the foundation to continue to increase their weekly orders.

AMID the bad news, rising stats and uncertainty due to the lockdown, there is so much good being done in communities by people, groups, organisations and NPOs.

The Robin Hood Foundation has been inundated by requests for food from so many individuals and communities.

“We are distributing R100 000 worth of food and supplies per week but we are still not even close to meeting all the requests,” said foundation’s founder, Cindy Norcott.

Norcott expressed their heartfelt thanks to each and every person and company for their support.

“A special mention to CHEP South Africa and friends and clients of Hearts in Hands NPO for your generous support. Last week, our community partners at KZN Valley Dogs, Heartstrings, Khulisani, Action in Isolation, 1000 Hills Community helpers centre, Twinkle Star Foundation, Hearts in Hands, Christian Social Services distributed food and supplies that reached thousands of people combined.

Homeless shelters in Pinetown and PMB, community outreach in rural Midlands, Dargle, Mpophomeni, Sphumelele, Howick, Hammarsdale, Embo, Molweni, Kwangcolosi, Maphephetheni were among the many communities that have been assisted by these organisations.

“As we move into week 4, and with our 15th birthday approaching in May, we would like to raise R150 000 before the 15 to enable the foundation to continue to increase their weekly orders and areas we serve and we cannot do this alone, we need your help.
