Engage in good deeds during Covid-19 lockdown

Cindy Norcott, from the Robin Hood Foundation, said so many families will suffer during the lockdown and is therefore requesting for people to collect things that can be donated after the lockdown.

FOUNDER of the Robin Hood Foundation, Cindy Norcortt, has encouraged residents to collect items that can be donated after the lockdown.

Norcott’s plea comes after speaking to many people who feel disappointed and distressed due to the impending lockdown.

“The moment I start to feel the slightest disappointment or fear, I immediately think of ‘perspective’ and I think of the poor gogos that we serve through the Robin Hood Foundation who will be going through the most terrible struggle in this lockdown trying to feed their families, living in tiny shacks,” said Norcott.

She said, RHF coordinator, Kim Griffith Jones and some intrepid volunteers from the Robin Hood Foundation managed to distribute three tons of food to needy communities. “It is not even close to enough but it was something we could do in these circumstances.”

Norcott said as soon as the lockdown is over they will need to rush to the aid of desperate families and help other community organisations who care for the most desperate members of society.

“Friends, while you are on lockdown, one of the best ways to keep morale high is to do a good deed per day. If you are spring cleaning your cupboards please put aside anything that fits in a bag that the poor gogos can use – items from your kitchen, linen cupboard, clothes, shoes etc.

“If you are in a financial position to do so, maybe consider making a donation to a charity of your choice that helps those in need,” pleaded Norcott.
