UPDATE: Illegal dumpsite cleared in Ashley

According to SBV Services, the waste was dumped illegally by a third party and they immediately ensured it was cleared.

THE makeshift dumping site at 20 Morrison Road, Ashley, which raised the ire of frustrated and concerned residents, has since been cleared.

The Highway Mail highlighted the issue after residents claimed the dumped rubbish attracted an infestation of rats and snakes.

DA PR councillor for Ashley, Mzamo Billy, said, “I received a call from the representatives at SBV Services (the company accused of dumping its waste at the property) and they apologised.”

SBV also reached out to councillor Billy on Twitter and said, “The waste was dumped illegally by a third party and we immediately ensured it was cleared. None of the waste was confidential – it was, for example, paper slips used in our cash processing machines to demarcate quantities. We have reviewed and improved our process.”
