Kloof’s Round Table makes a wheel change

The Kloof Round Table 190 has adopted the Bridges of Hope home for 2020.

COUNTLESS smiles and hugs were shared at the Bridges of Hope home in Cato Ridge when the Kloof Round Table 190 delivered 20 donated bicycles.

Bridges of Hope was founded by Sharon Aurets to feed, educate and empower children and adults who, for various reasons, would have slipped through the cracks of society.

The home acts as a place of safety for 10 children and a few adults who have a variety of cognitive and physical challenges and special needs.

Assistance for the general day-to-day running of the home is obtained through financial and in-kind donations.

The donation of bicycles was a joint effort with Sani 152, which supplied the bicycles.

“Our sincere thanks go to them and their sponsors for such a wonderful donation,” said the Kloof Round Table 190’s Matthew Helm.

“The carers have been actively involved in the upliftment of the poor for many years and, at the moment, perform the roles of carer, teacher, mentor, and parent to many children, most of whom have come from extremely unfortunate circumstances,” said Matthew.

Bridges of Hope is also actively involved with its surrounding and provides assistance and relief as and when it is able to.

“They don’t have much themselves, but what they have, they are always willing to share,” said Matthew.

Kloof Round Table 190 has adopted the charity for 2020 and will channel funds raised during its projects this year to help uplift and improve the home.
