Wesville family robbed at gunpoint in home invasion

The men fled with a TV and watch in the complainant's company vehicle.

A WESTVILLE family was held at gunpoint during a home invasion on Monday around midday.

According to KZN police spokesperson, Col Thembeka Mbele, the complainant alleged that he was with his family when unknown men, wearing balaclavas, pointed firearms at them.

“The gunmen ordered the family to not scream. The armed men took a TV and a watch and then drove off in the complainant’s company vehicle that was parked in the yard,” said Mbele.

A case of robbery was opened at Westville police station for investigation.

This incident took place two days after the Highway Mail reported on a Westville bank robbery in which it is believed that more than R100 000 was taken by suspects using two vehicles.
