Upper highway locals shine in KZN waveski competition in Scottburgh.

THE KZN Closed Waveski competition that took place at Scottburgh main beach recently saw some great surfing and fantastic growth in KZN Waveski!

Not only is KZN growing its ladies division but is also the first province to have an Adaptive Surfing division with the two entrants, Doug Hendrikz and Eric Perrier, in fierce competition for first place.

The heats were hotly contested and finally won by Highway local, Ryan Griffith, Stuart McHattie 2nd and Dylan Bense and Craig Barlett placing 3rd and 4th respectively.

The ladies final was won by Janelle Radmeyer with Shannon Heaver 2nd and highway locals Bianca King and Kim Griffith Jones who were placed 3rd and 4th respectively.

KZN Waveski chairman Jarryd Duminy said, they are grateful for all the support they received this year and to the contestants who have invested in growing the sport.
