Pinetown Junior gives generously

IN celebration of July Mental Health Awareness Month, Pinetown Junior Primary School held a fun day at the centre and provided all mental health care users with a delicious meal.

The school also generously donated items including a fridge, toiletries and sport equipment to assist the Durban and Coastal Mental Health Centre.

Durban and Coastal Mental Health ( DCMH), is a non-profit organisation which renders services to persons with mental disability. It works with individuals, families and communities to achieve the highest possible level of mental health for all by developing equal, caring services for people having difficulty coping with everyday life, and for children and adults with mental disabilities.

The organisation’s Challenge Protective Training Workshop based in Pinetown provides stimulation activities and skills development to 50 adults with mental disability.

Protective workshop co-ordinator for DCMH, Carmel Murugen, said they were very grateful to Pinetown Junior Primary School for their support and donation of much-needed items which are an enormous help in meeting the needs of persons with mental disability.
