Epic clash ends in draw

WBHS and Kearsney College went head-to-head in another soccer fixture at the weekend.

WESTVILLE Boys’ High School and Kearsney College’s soccer teams renewed their rivalry this past weekend as the game at Stott Field ended in a draw with a final score of 2 – 2.

The recent match up was bound to be a competitive fixture as the last time these two sides met Westville came away as the victors with a score of 2 – 1.

Kearsney had an early breakthrough, scoring from a free-kick to lead 1-0 at the half. Westville only seemed to get going in the second-half and dominated possession.

This was rewarded with an equalising goal from substitute Abdul-Karime Hafeez.

Kearsney scored again to go ahead 2 – 1, largely against the run of play.

WBHS continued to show resilience and, in true Westville spirit, found their second equaliser through Austin Ibeleme with five minutes to play.
