Kids to shop for free at Mandela Day Mahala Market

The Robinhood Foundation appeals to the community to get involved and support the #wearsharecare drive and encourages the public to take up the Mandela Day challenge.

THIS Mandela Day, the Robinhood Foundation will be setting up a Mandela Day Mahala Kids Market where each of the 700 children at Lalelani Primary in Ntshongweni will be able to ‘shop for free’ and have their first real shopping experience.

The Robinhood Foundation appeals to the community to get involved and support the #wearsharecare drive and encourages the public to take up the Mandela Day challenge and get involved to help gather up about 16 tons of preloved, good condition clothes and shoes, food, toiletries, blankets and stationery for the 700 children at Lalelani Primary School.

“At the market we’ll be setting up in their hall looking for each child to be able to chose their own goodies and take home at least three new outfits, toys, stationery, non perishable food items, toiletries as well as be able to serve them lunch,”

How you can help?

Donate your preloved clothes ages five years to adult and R67 towards this cause.

Donate towards 700 of the following:

Blankets
New toiletries – soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, facecloths
New stationery – rulers, pencils, jotter books, Pritt, pens
Food – any non-perishables for them to take home, hotdogs, catering, juice, chips, cake, sweets for the day
You can also volunteer on the day.
