Four die in N3 horror crash

Multiple others were injured and two helicopters were called in to help transport patients to various Durban hospitals.

FOUR people died when a taxi crashed into a truck on the N3, Pinetown bound, after 1pm today (27 June).

“A taxi hit into the rear of a truck that was allegedly broken down in the centre of the national freeway,” said Rescue Care’s spokesman, Garrith Jamieson.

According to reports from the scene, the taxi overturned and was torn open during the crash and passengers were ejected from the vehicle.

Multiple ambulances, the Lenmed 1 Aeromedical helicopter and another helicopter were dispatched to the scene.

“Three men and one woman sustained major injuries and were declared dead on scene,” said Garrith.

Multiple others were wounded and taken to various Durban hospitals.
