Pinetown police search for kidnapped girl (10)

Parents have received a message to deposit R20 000 for the return of Siphumelele.

THE Pinetown Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit (FCS) is appealing for assistance from anyone who can help find Siphumelele Mzimba (10) who was kidnapped yesterday (Thursday, 13 June).

According to the Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, Siphumelele was last seen at about 2.30pm going to a hairdresser close to her home in Mkhize Road, but never reached her destination.

“Siphumelele’s parents received an SMS from the alleged kidnapper demanding ransom money of R20 000. They were directed to deposit the money at SPAR, five R4000 deposits separately before the end today, (Friday, 14 June),” said Manqele.

Anyone who can help find the little girl is urged to contact Pinetown SAPS on 079 5000 289, 031 325 5083 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
