Untiedt is no stranger to WGHS, having served as deputy principal from 1998 to 2005 under Mary Johnstone, before moving to St John’s College in Johannesburg, where he spent 11 years.

“We were delighted to have him rejoin us at the beginning of last year and many of you would have had the pleasure of interacting with him. Mr Untiedt brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the school, from both state and private education, particularly in the fields of drama and English. His role as deputy principal enabled him to develop the skills required to manage a large school and I have every confidence that he will use those skills to guide the school to greater heights,” said Tait.

According to Tait, one of Untiedt’s greatest assets, is his passion for the enhancement and continuous development the learners of Westville Girls’ High.

“His principled, fair and rational approach will fill you with the confidence to extend yourself, to continue to strive for excellence and to never shrink from your purpose.

“On behalf of the School Governing Body, I welcome and congratulate Mr Untiedt: may you enjoy many rewarding years at Westville Girls,” he added.
