Westville mum’s kidnapping update: Police issue warning to public

Untrue reports and interference of private individuals, who have a financial interest in the matter, are hindering the investigation according to the Hawks.

SANDRA Moonsamy has still not been found.

The Hawks have issued an appeal to the public and the media about the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Westville mum of two, Sandra Moonsamy, who was taken from her vehicle on Stapleton Road more than a week ago.

All media, mainstream and social, have shared stories, many of which have since been refuted by authorities.

On Thursday afternoon, the KZN SAPS communication office issued the following statement by KZN Hawks spokesman, Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo.

“This office wants to place it on record that untrue media reports and interference of private individuals who have a financial interest in the matter are hindering the investigation. The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation is aware of the ransom email that was sent to the family and it is part of our investigation.”
