Cheers to all things gin

A large marquee will be set up in the parking area outside Platzz Restaurant where the main hub of the gin festival will take place. An array of gin stalls will be set up with local and international favourites.

HILLCREST Centre’s first gin festival, Gin in the Crest, will take place this Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 May.

The centre recently had a much-needed makeover thanks to the new owners, the Keal Property Group, and as one of the first shopping centres in Hillcrest and surrounds, has always been at the heart of the community.

With that in mind, the property group along with the tenants have planned a number of community driven events including the gin festival.

A large marquee will be set up in the parking area outside Platzz Restaurant where the main hub of the gin festival will take place. An array of gin stalls will be set up with local and international favourites.

Entertainment includes performances from Parable Fifteen, Zazz and the Carmen Rodrigues Band.

Many of the shops will be open during the festival and late into the evening.

Festival-goers can expect a free gin glass and cocktail on arrival for all those who buy the Luxury Tickets, starting at R100, live music, only the very best local and international Gin & Mixers, non-alcoholic gin stands, a beer stand and awesome food from any of the food outlets in the centre.

General entry tickets are R50 and Luxury Tickets from R100 which includes a cocktail, a branded gin glass and exclusive access to the festival. (Limited to the first 500 ticket holders) No branded Gin glasses will be available for tickets purchased on the day.

Tickets are available on skabre.co.za/gininthecrest. Gates open at 12pm on both days and close at 9pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday.
