LISTEN: M19 clear for now as protesters meet with Metro Police

Andreas Mathios said there is a strong presence of Metro vehicles including a Metro Casspir and other vehicles that are starting to arrive.

THE ongoing strike on the M19, which caused the road to be closed to traffic, is stable as of Tuesday morning, according to Andreas Mathios who sent out a voice note shortly before 10.30am.

“I’ve driven onto the M19 coming from Makro towards Pinetown. The protesters from this morning are now in a meeting formation and are being addressed. They are off the main road and are not a threat at this stage,” he said adding that he would be monitoring the situation and advised that people report any change to the situation on their neighbourhood watch groups.
