Draft municipal spatial development framework (MSDF) 2019 – 2020

The Municipal Spatial Development Framework is a spatial representation of the vision of the Integrated Development Plan.

ETHEKWINI Municipality is calling on the public to comment on the 2019/2020 Municipal Spatial Development Framework (MSDF).

The Municipality has revised its MSDF in line with Section 26 on the Municipal Systems Act of 2000, Chapter 4 PART E of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management (Act 16 2013) and the eThekwini Planning and Land Use Management Bylaw 2017 (Municipal Notice 114 of 2017).

The MSDF is a spatial representation of the vision of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP).

It is concerned with the long-term future development of eThekwini Municipal area, responding to community needs and identifying opportunities for growth and development so that land can be managed in the best interests of the public.

The Revised 2019/2020 MSDF report has been circulated to all Municipal Libraries and Sizakhala Centres for viewing and comment and will be available 14 February 2019 – 16 April 2019.
