Gillitts Primary continues to thrive

The local primary school received an award from the KZN MEC for Education that marked it as the top performing school in a circuit.

GILLITTS Primary School was awarded a certificate of excellence at the Umhlatuzana Circuit Management Centre’s high school and primary school awards function last week.

The school’s principal, Arti Jadoo, was given the award by the KZN MEC for Education, Mthandeni Dlungwan.

The certificate marks her school as the top performing school in a circuit.

Jadoo said she was honoured to receive the award as her school, under its previous leadership, was declared dysfunctional.

“Thank you to my management team, staff, members of the school governing body, sponsors, parents and all stakeholders for their contribution to this transformation,” said Jadoo.

She also thanked the Department of Education for their acknowledgement.”
