Durban in for baseball treat
Baseball fans, both new and old, are invited to watch SA take on France at Hoy Park in early November.
DURBANITES can look forward to international baseball games this November as the national teams for France and South Africa will go head-to-head in a series of six test matches.
Two matches will be played in Gauteng, two in Cape Town and two at Hoy Park in Somtseu Road, Durban.
South Africa and France played each other for the first time in South Africa in 1993 for the President’s Goodwill Cup and then faced each other again in 1994 in Paris for the World Cup Qualifier.

The teams faced each other again during the World Cup in 2001. The last game played between these two teams was in 2012 as a World Cup Qualifier in Florida, USA, which SA won 5 – 2 after two extra innings and rain delays.
Of the 74 playing countries, France is currently ranked 23rd and South Africa, 26th. South Africa will also participate in the International Baseball Tournament of France, the Yoshida Challenge 2019.
Test match three is on Tuesday 6 November from 2.30pm and test match four is on Wednesday, 7 November at 2.30pm. Admission and parking is free.
