Pavilion supports city’s water awareness campaign
Municipal officials will be available for shoppers to raise any utility service related queries like electricity, water, rates and revenue.
ETHEKWINI Municipality has partnered with The Pavilion Shopping Centre to conserve water and increase awareness of the need to value water and to use it wisely.
South Africa has experienced a prolonged period of lower-than-normal rainfall over the past few years and the City has since been critically affected by the drought situation.
This partnership with The Pavilion comes at a time when the Centre is transforming its rest-rooms into modern, vibrant facilities which will cater for the needs of the shoppers, while optimising energy efficiency.

“The upgrade has been planned along smart, environmentally responsible building principles,” said general manager of The Pavilion, Nisha Kemraj.
“Through this valuable partnership with the city, we are able to assist in creating awareness of sustainable practices among the youth and in the communities in which we operate,” she said.
About 20 high schools in eThekwini will present and demonstrate eco-friendly ways to help reduce water usage. During this weekend, municipal officials will be available for shoppers to raise any utility service related queries like electricity, water, rates and revenue.
The water wise weekend will be held The Pavilion Shopping Centre, Fountain Court Arena, Cinema Level on Saturday, 18 August and Sunday, 19 August from 9am to 3pm on both days.
