On yer bikes! Catch the KZN points leg 5 at Queensburgh BMX Club on 22 July

Catch Queensburgh BMX racers in action on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the club in Marlton Road, Northdene and start time is 1.30pm.

Queensburgh BMX is holding their club race meeting on Sunday, July 22, at the Queensburgh Club track.

According to top racer, Dylan Eggar, who recently won top place in the Elite Men’s section of the National Age Groups (NAG) Series at Alrode BMX track in Gauteng, the race meeting is an opportunity for clubs to ear points towards being named the overall winner at the end of the racing year.

“It is free for spectators to come and watch and support the club,” said Eggar who has made a name for himself in this sport over the past few years.

Eggar is an avid member of the Queensburgh BMX Club who started riding at the age of three when his older sister introduced him to the sport, and has not looked back since, and last year even visited the USA to compete, holding his own well by receiving international recognition having been placed in the top eight in world championships.

Dylan’s journey has been made possible by the support of his family, club and sponsors, STAYSTRONG racing gear. While he might have been very young when he started racing, Eggar says he has never felt pressure to perform, rather just support and encouragement and was never forced to pursue the sport further but was motivated by his love of riding.

“My piece of encouragement to younger riders is that it doesn’t matter how many times you lose, just keep getting up and hard work pays off,” he said.

Catch him in action along with others from Queensburgh BMX club on Sunday, July 22 at the club in Marlton Road, Northdene and start time is 1.30pm.
